It's QME time, again!

The Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition, the most significant mining event in Queensland, is making its rounds again this year, which means it's already been 2 years since the last time we posted about QME. This year marks the 25th birthday for QME in Mackay, adding to the fact that industry is definitely on the rise in the region and cautious optimism is spreading.

Last night we sat down to recognise Queensland's hardest-working contractors, suppliers & producers at the Queensland Mining Awards for 2018. At a sold-out black tie gala and held during QME 2018, 520+ attendees were treated to speakers including the Asset President of BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) Rag Udd, the Chief Executive of the Queensland Resources Council Ian Macfarlane and the Minister for Resources and Northern Australia, Matt Canavan.
Wolff Mining, ultimately being named Queensland Mining Contractor of the Year for 2018 for their collaborations with Caterpillar and Hastings Deering to innovate a Semi-Autonomous Dozer Module. Paving the way for mine automation in low-cost environments while still increasing productivity, judge Peter Kane said "“Wolff Mining is leading the industry in this space, solving a consistent industry issue by working with OEMs and taking a risk. This project ticked all the boxes."
